Virginity Soap – Why and For What?

The makers of these products claim that they "tighten" the vaginal walls and make it seem as if there's been a "return" to virginity. Oh, and did we tell you these soaps apparently also whiten the vagina?

Virginity soap makers make so many claims. "maintains the proper natural moisture of the skin, reducing inflammation and irritation." Really?

Lately, we've been spotting so many blows to women's liberation, not just sexual liberation. However the battleground remains – sex and sexuality are always used as weapons with which to control women. Virginity soap? Why and for what earthly reason?

Examples of so-called virginity soaps. Taking virginity to the extreme!
Because what's worse than a brown vagina? even if your skin is naturally dark, you can get it whitened and tightened.

Well what's clear is that misogyny is alive and well and works to keep women down in the world. There are false valuations of a woman's virginity when a product like "virginity soap" exists. What First Post found  out was that in Dubai authorities have a tough time keeping these products off retailers' shelves. Even when they don't conform to local health regulations, retailers seem to do a roaring trade. The makers falsely label them as "no side effects herbal  products".

Meanwhile any gynecologist can tell you that messing with the pH balance of the vagina can have serious consequences.

Retailers are the ones pushing them onto an unsuspecting but deeply insecure and perhaps brutalized public. Even though these false claims are rife, such products are to be found in countries as far afield as Kenya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE. Even Amazon sells these soaps.
