Abia State Government Denies Ebola Case in Aba!

   There was a rumour that the sister to the late Port Harcourt doctor, Iyke Enemuoh, who died of Ebola, had reportedly escaped and sneaked into Aba in Abia State. However, the Abia state government has come out to tackle this, claiming it is false. The Commissioner for Information for the state, Mr. Eze Chikamnayo described the rumour as "evil and mischievous," and called out the Aba- based radio station that alleged that the late doctor's sibling had taken refuge in Aba.

    Chikamnayo said investigations revealed that the deceased is not an indigene of Abia, but rather Anambra state, and that his mother was living with him in Port Harcourt while his wife had since been quarantined in Lagos. He further added that the intension of those behind the report was to cause tension and unnecessary apprehension in the state, and enjoined residents not to panic but disregard the rumour. He concluded by saying;

"Abia for now is Ebola – free."
